DR. KERYN HARLOW
Dr. Keryn Harlow, a leading gynaecologist and fertility specialist, specialises in advanced laparoscopic surgery and endometriosis care at Te Whatu Ora Waitaha, Canterbury. She's the sole AGES accredited gynaecologist in the South Island, offering comprehensive care and fertility services. Dr Harlow’s research focuses on endometriosis and the impact on fertility, reflecting her commitment to tailored patient care.

Keryn graduated from the University of Otago and completed her specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in New Zealand and Australia. She returned to Christchurch in 2022 with her husband and 3 young boys after completing a 2 year fellowship in Melbourne, at the Royal Women’s Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women, in advanced laparoscopic surgery and endometriosis.
Keryn works at Christchurch Women’s Hospital and is the lead consultant for advanced endometriosis, receiving referrals from throughout the South Island. She has established a shared service with the Colorectal Surgery team to provide care for people with severe endometriosis with bowel disease. She is proud to be the only AGES accredited gynaecologist in the South Island. Keryn predominantly operates at Southern Cross Hospital Bealey Ave but also at St George’s Hospital. She also provides fertility care at Fertility Associates Christchurch. She has extensive training in minimal access surgery including surgery for large fibroids and hysterectomy.
Keryn is passionate about endometriosis care and is an investigator with a leading research
group- endometiosis.org.au in Melbourne. She is also completing a PhD with the University of Melbourne investigating endometriosis-related ovarian cysts and their impact on fertility. She has published several papers in peer reviewed journals.
Keryn is a fellow of RANZCOG and AGES and participates in the continuing professional development programme. She is also a member of the Clinical Advisory Committee for Endometriosis New Zealand.
PHILOSOPHY
Dr. Keryn believes in a women-centred approach to gynaecological care. Every women should feel empowered to manage their gynaecological concerns. She has extensive expertise in minimal access surgery including endometriosis care and pelvic pain.
Her involvement in research allows her to work at the forefront of the available evidence and keep up to date with the latest treatments and developments in women’s health, particularly in endometriosis and the relationship with fertility. She believes no one approach is suitable for all and enjoys working with women to find a treatment pathway suitable for them.
